Swartkop Airshow 2012
Swartkop 2012 was a nice mixture of props and jets. last year when we had a mock war, this year, lots of bangs and explosions but no war. The Tora Tora Tora bit with the Harvards was again excellent and the mass flypast of prop aircraft was great. In my view, too many parachute drops and several gaps spoilt the day somewhat but the end with the mass jet fromation was also a highlight. Nice to see the Vampire and Gripen flyiong together. The Silver Falcons team 72 flew their last deiplay together and were very tight. Nice one guys and girl. The final break with accompanied big bang was awesome. A new addition to the airshow scene was the T2 Buckeye - lovely jet and nice to see an American jet for a change! Thanks go to Canon for providing me with a 300mm F2,8 with 1,4x convertor so that I did not have to travel with my own lens - big plus!
